Easy Wood Tools Mid-Size Easy Rougher

Mid-Size Easy Tools are a versatile choice for bowls, plates, lidded boxes and spindle work. All four options share the same Mid-Size handle and bar dimensions; the Micro Detailer option refers to its smaller cutter, not a shorter tool.

Tool choices and fitted cutters

• Mid-Size Easy Rougher: Ci2-SQ square cutter for removing material and establishing the shape.
• Mid-Size Easy Finisher: Ci3 round cutter for curves and final shaping.
• Mid-Size Easy Detailer: Ci4 diamond cutter for coves, beads and fine detail.
• Mid-Size Easy Micro Detailer: Ci7 diamond cutter for smaller coves and fine details.

Specifications for each tool

• Overall length: 21 in (approx. 533 mm).
• Handle: 14 in (approx. 356 mm), American maple.
• Tool bar: 3/8 in square x 7 in long (approx. 9.5 x 9.5 x 178 mm), stainless steel.
• Manufacturer-rated maximum reach beyond the tool rest: 3 in (approx. 76 mm).
• Each tool has its specified standard carbide cutter fitted and is supplied with a hex key.

Keep the bar flat on the tool rest, the tool parallel to the floor and the cutting edge at the centreline of the work. Rotate the cutter to an unused edge as needed, then replace it when the usable edges are worn.
