Woodcut Bowlsaver Max4 Tool Post
The Bowlsaver Max4 has its own specially designed tool posts. You can add one when you buy your Max4, in the size you choose. Buy one here if you need a spare, want to run your Max4 on a second lathe, or are moving to a lathe with a different tool post diameter.
Each post is made from steel and includes the fittings to mount the Max4 platform securely, so the system stays rigid under the pressure of coring large bowls.
Sizing:
Every lathe takes a different tool post diameter. Check your lathe manufacturer's specifications, then choose from 25.4mm (1"), 25mm or 30mm. For Vicmarc lathes, the VL150 takes 25.4mm (1") and the VL175, VL200, VL240 and VL300 take 30mm.
What you'll need:
A Bowlsaver Max4. These posts are designed for the Max4 only. If you run a Bowlsaver Original, Irons Tool Gate or Pro-Mount, use the standard Woodcut Tool Post range instead.
New to bowl coring? Our free Bowl Coring Workshop Guide (PDF) covers choosing between the Original and the Max4, tool posts, setting up the blank, the cut itself, sharpening and drying.
